Gene's voice is at once brawny and refined, more theatrical than your average rock singer. As an accomplished actor, he's got the stage presence to charm a connection with every member of the audience. Gene performs with theatre troupes around New York and New England, co-manages his own theatre production company and fronts the popular Boston-based glam rock band Gene Dante & The Future Starlets.

Fueled by influences from Brian Eno to The Runaways, Bowie, Neil Diamond and Paul Lynde (wait, what?), Gene Dante delivers an engaging performance that's an exquisite, rare combination of style and substance. His body of work is Gen X glam poetry set to rock music. Sometimes introspective, often playful, sexy, puckish and even at times, anthemic, it's the stuff that can only come from honing a rock star's hard skills (songcraft, playing) and soft skills (stage presence, personality). Because he's such a lyrical writer, Gene's songs lose no power when performed pared down to just voice and guitar. Gorgeous jams like "Little Belle" alongside the bubblegum sleaze of "C Star." You should definitely check out "C Star."
December 2013 - Joe's go-to piano tuner is area musician and all-around cool guy, Mel Lederman. But when Mel checked it out, the baby grand appeared to need some advanced repair, so Mel called up the master -- his dad, Marty Lederman. Pretty much the coolest guy ever. Mel, Marty and Joe worked on the baby grand over several sessions.Joe Kowalskihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14699346526105731096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3617395850867844467.post-88632131416496808622015-11-08T06:37:00.000-08:002017-01-28T13:48:51.823-08:00Joe and Deathwish

July 13, 2013 - Hey guys. In this webisode, Joe gets a baby grand piano delivered to the house. It was a gift from my parents in Connecticut. My father hired Piano Tony and his wife, Mrs. Piano Tony, to crate the 1951 Baldwin Model M and drive it to Boston. Deathwish, Boston area piano moving gurus, came over to bring it inside. Deathwish is famous for tough hauls, like moving antique instruments from high floors, through narrow ways and tight exits. Have you seen the North End? Normal people can't even park a car in that neighborhood. Deathwish parks a crane and moves pianos in and out of old brownstones. We signed up for a permit so that Deathwish could park their giant crane on the street. The guys craned the crated piano up over the house and into our 2nd floor porch, over the porch railing and through the kitchen to the living room. Neighbors came out to watch. It was a happening in Allston Rock City.
